Selling courses

Sales pages, prices, payments and enrolment.

A sales page tells people what a group offers before they join. Prepare the starting page in the course's Storefront, then check the group's copy before sharing it. Courses start free. You can also add a student directly without checkout.

Set a price

Open the price settings on the course or group. A group can use the course price, stay free or have its own price. Paid prices are in euros. Before publishing a paid group, an organization owner must connect Stripe in Settings → Payments and finish its setup. Publishing stays blocked until the saved Stripe account has submitted details, payments enabled and payouts enabled.

If the group is still a draft and uses the course price, a change to that price also changes the group price. Once the group is published, changing the course price does not change that group's price. You can change the amount of a published paid group for future enrolments; a published free group cannot become paid. Price rules has the limits.

Sales page fields

Open Storefront to explain the course and what students will do. Its fields are:

FieldLimit or choice
SubtitleOptional, up to 160 characters.
Description, additional indications, evaluation processUp to 5,000 characters each.
Cover imageOptional.
LayoutEditorial or Compact.
Course outlineShows the course steps by default. You can change the items shown here without changing the lessons.

The group's sales page is a separate copy. If you later want to replace it with the course page, read Template updates first: that action removes edits made to the group page.

A public page can show the group's place, public start and end dates, price and remaining seats. Those dates do not control lesson access. A group can have a page without appearing in the public list, or appear in the list without a page. See Groups.

Price rules

WhereChoicesInitial value / limit
CourseFree or paid.Free. A paid price is in EUR and must be at least €0.50.
GroupUse course price, free or paid.Uses the course price until you choose another option.

The editor asks you to confirm a price change. A published group cannot switch between free and paid. You can change a published paid group's amount for future enrolments. A checkout already open and a purchase already made keep their original price. If someone else changed the price while you were editing it, the editor loads that newer price; review it before saving again.

Checkout and recovery

A student accepts the applicable terms before enrolling and paying. The Stripe checkout can be open, processing, complete, cancelled or expired. An open checkout can be continued. After returning from Stripe, the student may need Check checkout while the payment is being processed. They can start again after a cancellation or expiry. Starting checkout alone does not give course access.

If Payment is unavailable, check Stripe in Settings → Payments, then check the group's publication, page, price and remaining seats. If a student reports payment without access, check the checkout state before adding them manually.

Existing website

An outside website can send enquiries or give course access through the integration API. Keep API keys on your server.
