Domains and styles

Only an organization owner can add a Website hosting domain. It must be a public subdomain such as learn.school.example.com, not the main domain school.example.com.

1. Enter the subdomain in Settings → General. Copy the CNAME name and target that Taskpipe shows into your DNS settings. A CNAME points your chosen address to Taskpipe.
2. Select Verify. Check the status in Taskpipe; it may pass through Preparing domain, Waiting for DNS and Waiting for certificate.
3. Wait for Active, then open the address and check a public page before using it in links. If setup fails, compare the CNAME with the values shown in Taskpipe and retry verification.

The website domain does not change the address used to send email.

Only an organization owner can add an Email sending domain in Settings → Email. A subdomain such as mail.school.example.com is recommended. Plan time for setup: organization email stops sending from the time you add the domain until it is verified.

1. Enter the domain. Add the DNS records that Taskpipe shows. If it asks you to Confirm domain ownership, add that record and verify it first; the remaining records appear after ownership is confirmed.
2. Use the verification action after adding the records. Check each record's status in Taskpipe and wait for Verified.
3. Check an organization email from notifications@your-domain. Sign-in codes still come from Taskpipe.

Removing the sending domain changes organization email back to the Taskpipe sender. It does not remove the website domain.

DNS changes can take time. Check the records and last check shown in Taskpipe before you retry verification. A website domain may be waiting for DNS or a certificate; an email domain may show that only some records are verified. Removing a website domain changes public links. Removing a sending domain changes the mail sender. Check links and email delivery before removing either one.
