Send a newsletter

Choose recipients, prepare a shared email draft, preview it and check the delivery results.

Use newsletters for news and offers to leads or students who agreed to marketing emails. For teaching updates, use the group feed or private messages instead. An owner must verify your email sending domain before you can send a newsletter; you can write and preview it while setup is pending.

Choose the recipients

Open Leads or Students. Filter the list for the people you mean to contact, then choose Email this list. That selection becomes the starting audience. Compose email starts with an empty recipient list so you can choose people yourself.

Review Recipients. Use Add recipients to choose more people and remove anyone who should not receive this email. Only eligible contacts with marketing consent are included. The saved audience does not keep growing as the original list changes.

Write and save

Enter a Subject and write the email body. Add headings, lists and links where they help the reader. If staff need a copy, turn on Send a copy to all managers; this includes owners and managers.

Changes save as you write. Drafts are shared with the organization, so another staff member can open them through Drafts and history. Wait for saving to finish before leaving.

If saving fails, your text stays in the editor. Retry before closing the page. If another person changed the draft, review that conflict before choosing Save my version, which replaces their latest edits.

Preview and send

Choose Preview email. Check the sender, subject, body, links and recipient count. If the draft changes, use Refresh preview and check it again.

When everything is ready, use the send action in the preview. Check that the email leaves draft status and appears in history. A queued email has been accepted for sending; it has not yet reached every recipient.

Check the result

Open the email in Drafts and history and check the delivery counts:

CountWhat it tells you
SentThe sending provider accepted the message. It does not prove the person opened it.
PendingDelivery work remains. Check again before sending a replacement.
SkippedThe recipient was not eligible when sending was checked, for example after withdrawing consent.
FailedSending failed for that recipient. Check the result before starting another email.

Complete can include skipped or failed recipients. Read the counts before treating the whole audience as reached. If another staff member sent the draft while you were editing, your local text was not sent; copy it before leaving if you need it.

The unsubscribe link lets a person stop marketing emails from your school. Course and account messages continue. Deleting a shared draft removes it for the whole organization; it does not recall an email already sent.
