Offer your course in fixed monthly payments
Give students a choice between paying in full and a fixed number of monthly payments, with clear totals and saved purchase terms.
A student may be ready for your course while needing to spread its cost. Taskpipe lets you offer a full payment alongside fixed monthly payment plans on the course page.
You set the amount of each payment and how many payments the plan contains. The student sees the choice before checkout, and their purchase keeps the terms they agreed to.
Start with the full cost
For a course priced at €600, you could offer:
| Payment choice | Each payment | Number of payments | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay in full | €600 | 1 | €600 |
| Three monthly payments | €200 | 3 | €600 |
| Six monthly payments | €100 | 6 | €600 |
These are example prices. In Taskpipe, each monthly plan has its own amount and count; its total is their product. The total does not have to match the full-payment price, so check both before publishing the offer. A plan of three payments of €220 would total €660.
Plans support 2–60 monthly payments, with at least €0.50 per payment. The agreed payment count gives the plan an end. You are selling a course for a stated total, paid over time.
Prepare the choices once, then check each offer
Course defaults can provide monthly choices for new offers. You can then manage the choices on a particular cohort or evergreen offer. Paid courses need a connected Stripe account that is ready to accept payments.
The €600 example, with three payments of €200 or six of €100.
Check the public course page before sharing it. The buyer should be able to compare the amount due each month, the payment count and the total. The payment setup guide explains how to add the choices.
Changing a price or retiring an option affects future purchases. Existing plans and open checkouts keep their agreed terms. You can update your next offer without changing what current students signed up for.
Keep payments and course access clear
The payment schedule and the access period are separate. Three monthly payments do not by themselves set three months of course access. State both on the offer, particularly for an evergreen course where students join on different dates.
The student's account provides invoices and access to the payment portal for their plan. Staff can see the agreed total, how much has been collected and any refunds in the purchase record. Future payments are part of the agreed total, not money already collected.
Handle a missed payment with the right information
An overdue payment can put access from that purchase into a grace period and then pause it. The student needs to settle all overdue invoices to clear that payment pause; the course's other access limits still apply.
Keep the purchase record beside the student's course record when helping them. Their saved work is kept, and separate free access is not removed by a pause on one purchase. The payments guide also covers cancellation and refunds when a student cannot continue.
